Deborah Florentino - Pastel Artist

It was great to have Deborah Florentino demonstrate at the April 4, 2023 OAG meeting at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in East Syracuse. Deborah is an accomplished pastel artist who exhibits at Skaneateles Artisans Gallery and is continually studying the medium with various other pastel artists. Deborah shared her knowledge of pastel painting by demonstrating her techniques of using broad strokes for the underpainting, delicate whisper marks to form the image and color mixing by layering. Deborah's landscape demonstration revealed her subtle and blended background and fuzzier foreground, leaving the most active areas in the middle ground. OAG members were inspired by her pastel painting methods and left inspired! Enjoy the slideshow below.
